This past Christmas (2011) my family decided to make our Christmas gifts since several of us were in the midst of a transition in life. It turned out to be one of my favorite Christmas's! I made coasters and a wooden picture-sign combination. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures of the process for the signs, but I do have the coaster pics. They weren't perfect, but it was fun and easy to make especially since I knew that everyone could use them as decoration or for acutal use.
I already had the stamp and brushes so all I needed was the metallic bronze paint, some tiles from Home Depot (4 for each sister at about 40 cents a piece), and some stencils.
I used the fleur de lis stamp on 2 of the tiles. First I stamped it in black ink and once it dried on the tile (about 1 minute) I added the metallic paint on top.
1. Just the stamp looked pretty cool... but once I started with the bronze, I just couldn't be stopped!
3. Finished!
4. Then I used the stencils and played around with the words to make a unique coaster for each sister. I did not use the black stamp on these; I only used the metallic paint and I was satisfied with how it turned out.

Finished!
I bought some fancy ribbon and tags and viola!
